Dear CHAPS member,

I hope you are enjoying the warm weather.

We have a busy summer ahead of us with several dates for your diaries.

On Saturday 8 July we have the CHAPS Summer Show. Hopefully the weather between now and then will be such that everyone’s garden is looking great and you will have lots of choice as to which classes to enter. As always entries need to be submitted by 8pm on Thursday 6 July. You can do this by using the entry form and posting it in the box at the Village Hall, via the CHAPS website through the form in the Members’ Area http://chaps-online.co.uk/, or if you prefer you can submit your entries by E mail to chaps.showsecretary@gmail.com. Please include the same details on your E mail as you would on the entry form. Entries must be staged by 10.45 on the Saturday morning and the show opens for viewing at 2.30pm. As always there will be a raffle, plant stall and home baking with tea or coffee.
On Tuesday 18 July we have an afternoon visit to RHS Wisley. As an affiliate member of the RHS, once a year CHAPS can take up to 50 members to Wisley with free entry. Please organise your own transport to meet at the main entrance at 12noon. It would be very helpful to know who is coming so we don’t go in without you so please contact Sandra or me via E mail on chaps.showsecretary@gmail.com or chaps.chairman@gmail.com or by Friday 14 July. If you need a lift please let me know and I will do my best to arrange this for you.

The CHAPS Garden Party will be on Friday 4 August (7pm for 7.30pm) at Quinnettes. Tickets will be £12.50 and can be obtained from Sarah Bourne or any committee member. Tickets will also be available at the Summer Show. As always there will be a home cooked two course meal with a glass of wine. There will also be a quiz and raffle.

On Thursday 17 August we have arranged an evening visit to Wheatley House near Kingsley through the National Garden Scheme. Please arrange your own transport to arrive by 6.30pm. We will need to the pay the entry fee of £5 per person in advance so please sign up and pay at the Summer Show or contact Sandra to arrange payment by Monday 7 August. The address is Wheatley House, Wheatley Lane, between Binsted and Kingsley, Bordon, GU35 9PA. Those who are able to provide a lift to others please meet at the Redhearn Green carpark at 6pm. It will take about 20 minutes to drive there.
